Classes consist of 10-12 students, and are normally two days long. Classes are focused on the practical shooting skills that will help you more confidently plan, tackle, and shave time from your stages. While this class does contain some advanced fundamentals, the class is mostly dynamic and stage oriented. Because this class doesn’t include a great deal of “firing line” type fundamentals training, we wont burn through ammo like a regular class. Therefore, the round counts are bit lower than what you might have seen at traditional 2-day classes in the past – we will make them count. I am a firm believer that when it comes to proper practice, quality is much more important than quantity, so this class will also cover principles of efficient practice, and how to structure your practices to identify and address your weaknesses.

Defensive pistol metrics is designed as a two day course for a shooter who already has the basics of defensive skillsets and is looking to improve their shooting technique. There will be a blend of competitive style shooting with a direct tie in to metrics to help the CCW citizen improve. Class will consist of two training days and a 2 hour evening lecture discussing dry fire plans, software, technology, and other tools typically used by competitors. The idea here is to take the lessons learned from competitive and defensive shooting blending them into one weekend package.
Recommended Gear
Quality semi automatic handgun in a defensive caliber (9mm,40,45 etc)
Multiple functioning magazines for that firearm minimum of 3
Safe firearm specific holster made for daily carry
Quality gun belt
Electronic ear protection
Eye protection
1000 rounds of quality ammunition
Snacks, drinks, cooler, sunscreen, camp chair, and other personal comfort items.
Weather appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for two days of outdoor exposure.
Please note that training will occur rain or shine unless there is a sever weather event. In such a case an alternate class date will be provided.
Course location is West Shore Sportsman’s Lewisberry PA

AEDC (Advancing Every Day Carry): If you have taken our EDC (Every Day Carry) course, this is the next step. What an awesome course covering subjects such as critical movement, discretionary target selection, mass crowds, cover and concealment and more!
I believe the word "Advanced" has been given an inappropriate stigma over the years and is often misinterpreted. Bruce Lee explains that Advanced Skills are just the Basics mastered.
Advanced: Far on or ahead in development or progress.
Basic: The essential facts or subjects of a skill.
Many "Advanced" classes paint the image of something out of a John Wick movie with flashy, cool moves and what we like to call "enter-trainment." This is NOT what we are about. We want our students to be able to use these skills to save their own life! Not to look cool on Instagram.
In this class we explain when and why a student should be "Advancing" their skillsets, or moving forward in the development of their EDC. Much like the EDC course, this is about considerations! Where the one day- EDC course focuses very heavily on those skillsets and equipment, the AEDC course delves further into the overall mindset and skills needed in the complex and cognitive aspects of fighting for your life.
Required gear:
What to bring: 600 rounds min of ammunition for your gun or guns of choice. 6 inert dummy rounds. Holster(s), spare magazines (spare magazine holster optional but it will come in handy). If you have a speed loader, I would bring it for your thumb‘s sake. Eye protection and ear protection. If you are the note-taking type, you are welcome to take notes. If you are still deciding on which gun to bring, bring them both. If you open carry at all, now would be the time to put it to the test as well. A camping chair would be a good idea. Dress for the appropriate weather conditions.
Range Fee: A range fee of $50 will be due the day of class to cover the student for both days of the class
