This course is designed to help shooters of all ability levels individually identify areas for improvement and accuracy, while stressing the importance of fundamental pistol skills. The is a building block approach to identifying methods of creating efficiency, self identifying mistakes and how to correct them. Students will use media to identify and correct inefficient movement. This is not for a beginning shooter (never touched a pistol before) but is for someone with some experience or a new competitive shooter. This is a performance driven class with close attention to individual improvement with specific standards covering the following:
Recoil Management
Efficient Presentation
Empty gun and speed reloads
Rapid engagement of multiple targets at adverse angles
Diagnosing inefficient motion and methods of correction
Primary and support hand shooting
Application of dry fire to range practice
Movement
Required Equipment
Quality Pistol, clean and oiled with 5 magazines (15 round mags or higher) / Single stack or 10 round magazines: bring 8 magazines
Mag pouches capable of carrying 2 additional magazines on a quality belt
Quality holster (NO SERPA holsters please) IWB may be used but the shooter must be ablet to holster the weapon with one hand (so no leather or nylon) and the holster must be for the weapon you are using
Spare batteries for optic (red dot shooters)
400 rounds of ammunition
Eye and ear protection
Close toed shoes or sneakers
Clothing appropriate for weather
Snacks and a lunch (we do not leave the range)
Notebook and pen/pencil
